Biography
Aj Webber began her career singing in folk clubs in Bristol
in the 70’s, and became a well loved resident of the
world-renowned club The Troubadour, where so many artists went
on to receive international success.
Aj’s ability to be able to entertain any type of audience led to
her becoming a ‘resident’ at the world renowned ‘Marquee’ club
in Wardour Street, appearing 20 times in one year. Her
reputation spread and she was soon ‘opening’ for ‘big name’ acts
and touring throughout the world with them. Her first tour was
with The Eagles at the height of their fame in Europe. She went
on to work and tour with legends such as:
David Gates (Bread)
The Everley Brothers
Crosby Stills and Nash
Neil Young
Frank Zappa
Kraft Werk
Neil Sedaka (four tours)
Leo Sayer (four tours)
Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons
Greenslade
John Hiseman’s Tempest
Justin Hayward and John Lodge (Blue Jays)
Aj appeared for two years running at Reading festival opening
before such acts as Queen and Rod Stewart.
She says that one of her favourite tours was with the legendary
Justin Hayward and John Lodge after they broke with the Moody
Blues and formed Blue Jays, at the time they had a massive hit
with Blue Guitar. As well as Aj going on to record an Album with
Justin Hayward, Aj has record three of her own albums, which all
received high acclaim:
Aj Webber (Anchor Records)
Of this Land (Gundog records)
Running our of Sky (Smart Records)
Goodbye My Friend Goodbye (Fred’s Song)
Aj wrote this song for Fred’s Funeral. Artists gave their time
freely, along with Pete Rowley who engineered and produced the
CD at his studio in Portland Square - ‘Attick Attack’. Sales of
the CD will be donated in Fred’s memory to local causes and
cancer support.
