Dealing with strings has
generally been for me a source of compromise and often frustration. For more
than 30 years, I have been waiting for the right medium, embracing top
quality but also longevity, fluidity, touch and beauty of-sound. I came
across Wyres Strings and found the answers to all my concerns. These strings
are just phenomenal, they are handmade, sound extremely well, feel great
under the fingers, allow for an extensive use of their sustain to "work" the
touch, the tone and the history of the note, they do not break and, icing on
the cake, thanks to a very subtle coating which doesn't not take any
harmonics away, they last for ever ! I feel completely relieved and will
always remain really impressed with this performance.
Wyres Strings surpass any other brand on the market today! I am proud and
honored to collaborate to a Signature set with Nick Walton and his company.
A dream came true.

I’ve recently switched to
Wyres Strings from another handmade string company. I was immediately blown
away with the tone and clarity of their coated strings. Most of all, Wyres
has given me the ability to create my own custom hybrid string set for my 7
string guitars!

I love using Wyres Strings.
They sound great and last as long as a Nova Scotia winter.

I really love the sound and

Wyres Handmade strings win out
over any others I have played for their delicacy of tone and longevity. They
come out of the package sounding rich with subtle colours, brilliance and
warmth. Their precision manufacture assures me of exact intonation and
stability of tone from their first day to their last, and as they wear in
they develop a robust midrange, rather than just becoming dull. I use them
exclusively on my Mandolins, Basses, Electric Guitar, Lap and Pedal Steels.
As most of the instruments need custom guaging, I am dependant upon my
string supplier's flexibility. Wyres have always come through! Thanks folks!

I've been playing guitar for
30 years and for as long as I can remember, I have been able to totally
destroy a new set of strings in about 20 minutes, no matter the brand or
type. I was pretty well resigned to having no options for fixing this little
problem until I discovered Wyres. I can now get at least three full shows
out of a set and their tone and clarity blows away the competition. They are
also very easy on the hands, with minimal "squeak" problems. I thank Wayne
and Nick and Wyres Strings for making a great product and for supporting me
these many years. I encourage every player to try a set. You won't be sorry!

I've been using Wyres Strings
for a couple of years now, and I find that overall they're the best strings
I have ever used. The fact is they don't break easy, they hold their tone,
and they seem to be rust resistant. I suppose it's the alloy that is in the
string. They're not too hard or too soft, and I feel confident when I'm
doing my gigs. Please keep me up on any new inventions.
- Leroy Emmanuel (LMT Connection) |
 |
Wyre strings are by far the best hand made
I've ever come across. I play 5-7 nites a week and I am very demanding on a
strings performance. Wyres are long lasting in tone and strength. Way to go
guys !! - Big Bad John Irvine (LMT Connection) |
 |
I'm sticking with Wyres.
They're as good or better than any strings I've ever used.
- John Campbelljohn |
 |
I love WYRES coated strings
for a number of reasons: they are much brighter than the other coated
strings I've tried, they stay in tune beautifully, they intonate perfectly,
they last much longer than uncoated strings and the price is right.
- David Love (The Burton
Cummings Band) |

Really enjoy your strings,
great tone and they feel good on the fingers.

As a player for over 35 years,
I have used pretty much every string out there, from cheap to exorbitantly
priced. So I know one thing: they all break or they lose their tone centre.
The questions are: when, and how long, will they still sound good and hold
pitch. I own a studio and use about 20 guitars a week. Do the math. I can't
change that many strings on an ongoing basis. The WYRES P.T.F.E.'s last
great on my acoustics, but to be fair, ALL coated strings work well for me.
Truth told, if you can tell the difference between WYRES and any other brand
( at way more $$$ ) you are a very discerning player indeed. Trust me –
WYRES are great.

In my never ending quest to
find great sounding and long lasting strings, I stumbled into Wyres at an
online store. I ordered a couple of sets, restrung my beloved 1970 Martin
D-41 and SHAZAM!, my guitar woke up from its Elixir & D'Addario sleep. They
sound better and last longer than any string I have used. Wyres are handmade
and I'm using the Teflon coated version which costs about 25% less than the
other coated string brands. I recommend them. I endorse them. I love 'em.
- David Fishken (Fishken &
Groves) |

Great strings.
- Jimmy James |
 |
I must say I’m quite impressed
with the teflon coated strings. Usually after just one show the strings are
dead because of the sweat and heat. I had tried the other brand’s coated
strings and they didn’t work on my electric guitars. After just one set of
songs you could always see the coating all worn off where I picked and where
I fretted the most. But with Wyres Strings, no coating wearing off, and
there was practically no oxidation on the strings. A radical difference from
what I was used to. I’m glad to find out there’s one company that has
a coating system that really works.
- Marc-André Gingras (MAG
Project) |

When Harland Suttis put Wyres
on my guitars, I immediately noticed clarity in sound and comfort in my
fingers. They have such a unique quality, unmatched feel, and long-lasting
integrity. I use them extensively and won't turn to any other set of strings
for my acoustics or electrics.
- Jamie Cambers (Jeff Somers
Band) |
 |
I put a set of Wyres on my
bass over a month ago. I've since done the Junos, TV rehearsals, concerts,
club dates and studio recording. Only now do I feel I need to change
strings. This is the longest string life I can remember, and I love the tone
and feel of them. Amazing!
- Jeff Jones |
 |
Wyres are super flexible, have
even response from string to string, and produce notes that absolutely bloom
into existence. These are the best sounding, feeling, and playing strings
that have ever graced my bass.
- Josh Gravelin |
 |
To me, what's really
impressive here, is that it only took Wyres Strings a few days to get me
away from the guitar string company I'd been with and very loyal to, for
more than 25 years. I did hesitate trying Wyres, because I'd played other
coated strings and was not impressed with the sound, at all. Being both
handmade and teflon coated, I find Wyres feel great, sound great and keep
their nice, bright tone as much as three times longer. Wyres Strings should
be every guitar player's first choice.
- Al Macumber |

I found out about Wyres
through my local music store. They set-up all their guitars with Wyres and
recommend them to their customers.
Fantastic! Can’t compliment
you enough on such wonderful strings. Great tone, great life and now great
coated strings for my acoustic! Wonderful products and a wonderful company!
Thanks!
- Andrew Aldridge |

I like my bass deep, but clean
and punchy as well. Wyres strings give me
the definition and clarity I need to cut through the mix.

them and I'm very happy endorsing the line.

As early as I can recall, the
quest for perfect tonality had always been elusive. With me, choosing the
right amplifier and complement of effects came first, but my choice in
strings had been the last part of the equation.
Then I tried Wyres. The people
at Wyres Strings have done something new. I now find my tonality or tonal
stability, has greatly improved!
- Andy Fong |
 |
The Wyres handmade strings are
wonderful to play and my instruments have a more open, richer sound.
- Maria Butterly |
 |
I was using the other coated strings, before
some Wyres sets came my way. Wyres also have longer life, but have a much
better, bigger and more brilliant tone. Amazing live and in the
studio.....I'm a believer !
- Rick Lambe

Thanks again for letting me in on the band
wagon. I'm so glad you told me about the Wyres hand-wound Teflon acoustic
guitar strings. They sound great. An interesting combination of a smooth
soft sound to a pointing cutting rythmn sound. Couldn't be happier.
- Jamie Alcorn (Lennie Gallant) |

In 1995, as a favour to Wayne
Hynes, I tried out the Wyres handmade strings and never went back to my old
brand. Just recently, as a favour to Nick Walton, I tried out the new 3rd.
generation PTFE strings and found them to be incredible. They are the best
sounding and best playing string available.
- Clarence Deveau |

It's funny how we get set in
our ways with guitar accessories like strings and picks. I have stuck
basically with one string company for the last 10-12 years, only deviating
to try the latest coated strings or handmade strings....both of which I
found too expensive, and in the case of the coated strings.....sonically
dead. When I first tried the hand-wound, Teflon coated PTFE strings on my
Krueger Custom Electric Guitars and on my Takamine acoustics (12 str & 6 str)
that I use live, I was blown away. A beautiful sounding string that doesn't
sacrifice high end due to the Teflon coating. The strings are easier on my
fingers and stay in tune much better than what I used before. The extra life
of the string is yet another benefit. I liked the strings so much, that when
I contacted Wayne & Nick about using their strings on my custom guitars and
my live shows, they offered me the sales rep position, and I took it! I
refuse to sell anything I don't believe in, so my choice of Wyres has turned
into the most honest endorsement I can give them!

WYRES! Crisp, Clean, and Responsive! Great for
finger mobility, minimal noise, top-of–the–chain durability! Incredible
Bends! The best string I have used in thirty years! Thank you Wyres!
- Patrick Sulley |

Within five minutes, I knew these were the
best strings I had ever played.
- Roger Lund (Pseudoscience) |

I absolutely Love Wyres
Strings. They're so smooth and easy to play and really pack a punch for the
heavier stuff. I find that my 32nd note scales are a little more accurate
using these strings, in combination with Wyres picks of course.
- Ken McLaren |

I finally got a chance to try
them, they work like a charm! Great feel...great sound...and they take quite
a pounding!

I had my doubts about trying
any coated strings on my electric guitars. Then I tried Wyres Strings, on
good advise from a friend. After THREE WEEKS of playing my SteelCaster,
http://www.jamestrussart.com, I told my guitar tech to change
them. I didn’t have to, they still sounded great, but I was afraid I might
break a string ! He put my regular strings back on and after three nights I
asked him to go back to the Wyres. There was quite a difference.
From now on, I feel I have no other choice because Wyres play great and
sound great night after night after night.
- Rej E. LaChance |

....I wonder if I really want
to give away my "secret" to other players why my guitar sounds so
great...but I know I will...the more people who know about your fine
product, the better for all guitar players.

I came to Nick @ Wyres with
the quest to get me the perfect banjo strings. I run a popular music shop in
downtown Toronto and have been fortunate enough to try every string out
there. I've dealt with Nick for a while now and he's always been willing and
more than able to tackle any string troubles I have had. We talked a bit
about what I was looking for and in practically no time Nick was able to get
some strings to me to try out. Without a doubt I now have the perfect and
best sounding strings I have ever heard on my banjo! The tone is crisp,
even, very warm and brilliant and they last a long time for banjo strings!
Nick and Wyres are simply making the best strings out there! And we're
working on a customized set of P.T.F.E acoustic strings for my flattop work.
The Wyres P.T.F.E enhanced
strings are without a doubt the best sounding coated strings available!

Here at Griffiths Guitar Works
we retail and repair the guitars and basses of a very loyal clientele of
both beginners and pros who often ask us for recommendations on strings. I
started using Wyres handmade phosphor HP1254's over a year ago myself and
fell in love... I get the "played-in" tone that I like and it lasts so much
longer. I play what I sell and I love playing and selling these pure bronze
strings. Keep up the good work guys.

Personally,
I've been using Wyres Strings for years. I guess I started using them
because of the price, but kept on using them because they played as good as
the more expensive strings that I compared them against.
At 'The
Arts' we started showing our customers the new teflon handwound strings a
short while ago and now they've become one of our best sellers. The most
common feedback I get from customers is the excellent tuning stability and
longer life. The lower price seems to be taking second chair to the quality
of the strings.

After 40
years of repairing guitars for most manufacturers, pros and the general
public, I've probably tried more strings on more guitars than most. I
believe Wyres to be the best strings I've encountered. Given the
choice, all guitars (including my own) would leave here Wyred. I've
had nothing but
positive feedback about these strings.

When my
customers come in to buy strings I can't help but rave about Wyres Strings.
I love them! I use them on my Tele, my Larrivee, my classical and my
mandolin. I love their unique coating, that keeps that 'new string sound'
much longer than most popular brands. They compare to the highest priced
strings in quality and sound but at regular string prices! Amazing. I
challenge anyone to find a better string for the money. These are fantastic
strings. So far everyone that I've asked to try these strings have returned
with rave reviews. I'll bet that once you've tried Wyres you'll never go
back. Spread the word! Thanks to everyone at Wyres. It's a pleasure dealing
with you.
